Bring me back , to the day when i just found out about the Philippines trip .
Because i want those 5 days back , over and over again .
Girls , thank you for being such lovely loves . Even when i didnt turn up for the meeting , you guys said it was okay . I feel totally busted and sucky , till now . You girls are the best thing .
Tiffany , Cheryl , Hyli , Fatin , Sharmila , Theresa , thank you for all those wonderful times .
Raudhah and Atikah , thank you for entertaining my mood swings .
Lydia and Seri , thank you for taking me into your room that night when i was bored .
And YuQi , thank you for changing seats with me and not getting mad at me when you didnt get the seat you wanted .
You girls are the best damn thing i could ever wish for .
So alright , i was in Philippines for like 5 days ,
and it was the most memorable experience .
Day 1 -
Woke up at 5am and reached school at 5.50am . Gathered evryone and left for the airport at 6.30am . Cleared the luggages and had breakfast with Aqilah . Finally it was time to go in, and i didnt even wave goodbye to Aqilah , im sorry love . I didnt even text Ramly , sorry aye . So boarded the airplane , and sat with Amirul and Nash . The flight was smooth and i didnt feel sick , yay me . Spent the time watching hindustan . Reached Philippines at arnd 2pm and checked out the guitars . We were sad cause there was several guitars that were broken ); Then checked in and the room was alright i guess . Meet up again and went for the city tour . Instead of ending up at the Golden Mosque , we ended up at the residences area . It was sad seeing their living condition and it did made me realise how lucky i am . The coolest thing was that there was a male urinal place in the middle of the pavement ! It was an area made up of four walls and there is no roof . Like so cool aye .
Alright , then we had dinner and we made lots of jokes . On the way home , we saw a hottie , he looked like Cristiano Ronaldo with curly hair and bushy eyebrows . I took a picture but it wasnt that clear . My oh my , if you girls see it , you will all be over him . Hoho .
Then reached hotel and had reflection . Everyone ended up in our room because they finished their reflection early and had no place to go . So yea , that was day one and i slept real well that night , arnd 2am after talking much with the girls .
Day 2 -
I think i woke up at 6.30am ? Then i woke Atikah and Raudhah up and we got dressed and went for breakfast together . I was like so tired because of the lack of sleep , but i pulled it thru . Walked to Philippine Women's University and the journey was like so cool . There was like shops by the road selling cigarettes and sweets . Funny aye , cigarettes and sweets together ? Haha . And there wasnt many traffic lights so we had to put our hand up to cross . And their taxis are called the jeepneys and like they had this tag on the side , saying where they are heading to and if the place you are going to is along the way , you just say stop to the driver and he will stop . Like cool aye ?
We reached PWU and learned the different types of strumming with Maestro Valdez . Then we had break and some others including me we brought to another room to learn out SYF song with the Maestro himself . It was like really awesome cause we had the once in a lifetime opportunity to learn from the Maestro himself .
Afterwards , there was a performance by the students and Maestro . He could like tambora and trelemo and play the melody , all at one time . Damn cool stuff seh .
We went for dinner and the roads barely had lights ! I couldnt really see and it was like kinda of scary . Children were all over the place and i could cry seeing their condition . Then we went to the shopping mall and got some stuff for the supermarket . Everythg was like damn cheap seh .
That night , for reflection , we had a wake up call and it changed all of our behaviour for the next few days .
Day 3 -
We went to PWU again and learn more stuff for Maestro . Soon we had lunch and we were all eating while Atikah was talking to Chris . All the girls were damn right jealous , but yea , we got over it . Haha .
Alright , then we took pictures and got the Maestro's signature . The best part of it all was that i got to hold his ten strings guitar ! It was like a dream come true and the frets were too wide that i had to hold it with both hands . :D
We were suppose to have our concert at 5pm but it was push to 2pm and i think we didnt play that well cause i couldnt hear the other guitarists and it did affect my playing . We played Pasko and the students sang with us and clapped real loud . It made us feel good aye ?
We made our way back to the hotel , changed and walked to a restaurant for dinner . Then we had to go to Pearl Garden Hotel to do a combined practice with IJ . Their hotel was like so grand that i could smell lemons when i entered it . The practice was fun cause we were so enjoying ourselves and singing to the songs . It made evryone laugh , it made me laugh .
We then went back to our hotel for the night and skipped reflection cause it was like alrdy 10pm by then .
Oh , and i had to give an opening speech and Mr Hendri and Mr Sha said i did great . Even the teachers from IJ said it was well delivered :D :D
Day 4 -
It was the day of our peformance and i woke up at 6am cause we had to leave by 7.30am . We went to the convent first and played for the nuns . They were singing and it sounded great ! Next we had to go to University of Santo Tomas and it was freaking huge and there was a museum inside it ! I saw row and row and row of sea shells . It all looked different , different sizes and colours . There was also different types of animals that we real but dead and were frozen to be preserved . There was also ceramics and porcelain from different countries and it all looked so fragile .
Then it was time for performance but before that we were treated ice cream . We didnt do so well for the performance again because we were at different counting . After we're done , the students gave us a performance and very song was like 9 mins plus ? Evryone was impressed , including me . Then we had a sharing session with the teacher and it was very educational cause now i knw how to the a tremelo , how to do a vibrator and how to stay in the same counting . The teacher was very cool and funny . Last performance was at a shrine and we did superb . The audience were crying cause the songs we played reminded them of their childhood . It made all of us feel good because we managed to touch them with our songs .
We wrapped the day up by singing out loud in the bus , taking turns to sing Im Yours , Guardian Angel , Always be my baby , Letters to you , My Heroine , PUSPA and Lucky . Everyone was laughing and having fun .
We didnt go out for dinner , instead we ate at the hotel . Then we had to bubble wrap our guitar in Mrs Liau's room and i bubble wrapped it quick that i decided to iron my shirt next .
Since my room was on the way to Mrs Liau's room and the fact that the door was open , the guys took the opportunity to ask me to iron their shirt . So i spent like half and hour or so ironing Nash , Faqih , Amirul , Uzair and Hairi's shirt . That was a time well spent -.- HAHA .
After finish ironing , we had a reflection session again and Mr Hendri was searching for one more guitar . Then evryone was looking looking for it when Mrs Liau asked were was the guitar she was carrying . Everyone said they dont knw , including me . Then she looked and me and asked where it was . I thought for awhile and i remembered it was in my room . Everyone was like "ANISAHHHH!!!" and i was like "sorry im already half asleep" . Lol .
After all that , we went back to our room to finish packing . The girls were talking with Mrs Liau while the boys were having pillow fights . The boys were like verrrrrrrrrrrrrry noisy that i could hear them from the floor upstairs -.-
I jst stayed in the room with Raudhah and Atikah . This is funny ,
me : eh raudhad , kau dah tdo -.- ( she was like closed eyes and looking really peacefully and deep in sleep )
raudhah : eh tak lah , mane ade ( she woke up and rubbed her eyes )
me and atikah : HAHAHAH, PERANGAI TAK MENGAKU !
It was like real funny lah . Then i bathed and when i finished , they were asleep . I wasnt tired so i became bored . Then i knocked Seri and Lydia's room and told them to help me move into their room . Haha . So i took my luggage and all my belongings and they helped me carried the mattress ! Haha , it was madness ! It was like checking in into another room . Lol .
After i settled in , we had a water party . We clogged up the hole that lets the water flow out and practically flooded the toilet ! It was so much fun , playing with soap and all . And it was alrdy to 2am , like haha . We played for a while longer and finally tuned in .
Day 5 -
It was our last day and we were supposed to go shopping at 9.30am but we left at 10.30am . I got evrythg for evryone . Evrythg was like so cheap and i spent the time with Seri , looking arnd here and there .
So then , i suppose to meet up with the girls at 12.30 but Rias told me to meet at 12.40 at Timezone . I was about to go timezone when i met Mrs Liau and she said meet at 1pm . I walked to the meeting place and met Zan along the way and helped him find a shirt . So i met them all up at 1.30 and the girls were mad at me cause they were waiting for me since 12.30 ! I felt so bad , and had no idea that no one tell them .
Once again , sorry sorry sorry girls ):
Then we had lunch and bused to the airport . My luggage was a freaking 21kg -.-
We waited and finally boarded the airplane . There was a lil turbulance and i felt dizzy but i overcame it soon . Sat with Amirul and Nash again .
Emotions caught up with me along the way and Amirul was asking if i was alright and all . It was kinda of embarassing and i denied evrythg flatly -.-
And hey , who knew Singapore is so lighted up brightly and that the flyer looked so beautiful from above ?
So yes , i learnt alot from the trip . There was times that it was fun , there was time it was disappointing cause we didnt our best at the performance and there was time were sad because of the broken guitars . But overall , it is the best experience with Wdls Guitar Ensemble 2008 . Ive learnt smthg new about evryone .
I now have a new found respect for my teachers , my guitarmates , my conductor and most importantly , myself .
And Mr Sha isnt that bad afterall you knw .
